On Thursday May 9, 2024 The Rock School will host its annual Gala event in support of our efforts to provide $1.2 million dollars in scholarships to promising young artists and subsidize RockReach, our community education program benefitting Philadelphia’s underserved children.
The Rock School Gala at Fairmount Water Works on the banks of the Schuykill River will bring together prominent individuals from the community, our gifted young dancers, Curtis Institute of Music students, and Rock School supporters to benefit children whose future is deeply impacted by our programming.
Supporters who join us for either cocktail hour only (6pm-7pm), or the full celebration including cocktail hour plus dinner (6pm-9pm), will both enjoy our 16th Rock School/Curtis Institute of Music Collaboration, a partnership envisioned and endowed by our founding benefactor, the late Dr. Milton L. Rock. This season’s world premiere Ballet is choreographed by Carolina Ballet’s founding Artistic Director, Robert Weiss and is set to an original score by a Curtis Institute student composer, Maya Miro Johnson.
Guests of the 2024 Gala can also find their next vacation, theatrical outing, fine dining experience and more in the live and silent auctions throughout the evening. Chefs, artists, jewelers, and photographers alike donate their finest to benefit The Rock School’s outreach programs for underserved youth and scholarship fund for promising young talent. From Rittenhouse Square to Italian villas, there are delights for every giving level.
The annual Gala is a cocktail attire, open bar event where this generation’s most promising young dancers showcase their talent as the sunset lights the festivities. It’s a night to celebrate and support The Rock School for Dance now in its 60th anniversary season. Whether supporting us as a sponsor, donating an auction item, or joining the region’s most generous philanthropists for an unforgettable evening, there is a way for you or your organization to lend your support to children whose future is brighter because of The Rock School.
