Foster a love for movement while bonding with your toddler! Caregivers actively support children in class as they discover their movement possibilities, improve coordination, build strength, and use their imagination. Led by Jessica Kilpatrick, this 8-week session enhances children's self-esteem and confidence in structured learning settings and supports growth both inside and outside of the dance studio.

About our Faculty

Jessica Kilpatrick

Jessica began her formal ballet training at the School of the Hartford Ballet at the age of nine and went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Pedagogy from The Hartt School, University of Hartford. Throughout her performing career, she danced in many of the great classical ballets and brought to life works by some of the most influential choreographers including Kirk Peterson’s American Nutcracker, as well as works by José Limón, Anthony Tudor, Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, and Merce Cunningham. After moving to New York City, Jessica became a founding member of Alison Cook Beatty Dance and later joined Amy Marshall Dance Company, performing at prestigious venues and international festivals. In 2016, Jessica was invited to Philadelphia, where she served for seven years as Principal of Lower School & Adult Programs at The School of Philadelphia Ballet. During her time she appeared on the stage of The Academy of Music under the direction of Angel Corella, performing beloved character roles such as The Nurse in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, Berthe in Giselle, Aiya in La Bayadère, and Madge in La Sylphide. Jessica’s passion for teaching began at age sixteen when she shared ballet with members of the Boys & Girls Club in Hartford, CT. Since then, she has taught at Ballet Hispánico, The Joffrey Ballet School, The Ballet School of Stamford, and The Hartt School Community Division, where she served as Artistic Director for their 2014 Summer Ballet Intensive. Most recently, she has been an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University and a Community Teaching Artist with The Rock School for Dance Education. Her artistry has been featured in two dance documentary films: Inlets 2, which highlights Merce Cunningham’s work filmed at the American Dance Festival, and I AM by award-winning filmmaker Glenn Holstein, documenting a ballet Jessica choreographed featuring Philadelphia Ballet’s Second Company and students from St. Katherine’s Special Education School. Jessica extends her deepest gratitude to her mentors Susan Brooker, Franco De Vita, Peggy Lyman, Samantha Dunster, and Angel Corella for their invaluable guidance and for instilling in her a lifelong love of dance.
