Residence Manager
The Rock School hosts a dormitory that houses approximately 40-50 students, ranging in age from 12 to 20.
The Residence Manager is responsible for overseeing and guiding the dorm residence operation and all student activities at the Marine Club Condominium (adjacent to the School’s location at Broad and Washington) as well as outings in the city and across the region. While on duty, under the supervision of the Director of Operations, job related duties include hiring Resident Assistants, coordinating events, monitoring/regulating social interactions and activities, assisting with/anticipating and resolving conflicts, etc. Additional day-to-day duties include reporting and cataloging maintenance requests, maintaining a healthy and clean environment, providing entertainment (birthday & holiday celebrations, special events, etc.), conducting room inspection, and coordinating with students cleaning of common areas such as hallway and lounge.
The Residence Manager will live on-site in their own apartment on the floor and will be considered on-call when not on duty, except defined specific days off when other staff are present or on-call.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise activities and interactions on the floor while on duty
Monitor and coordinate entrance and egress with The Rock School Security
Report, track, and catalog repair request with the Building Maintenance staff
Monitor the conditions of all furnishings, amenities, and space assigned to students per room, and if necessary assign fines and repair costs
Coordinate night cleaning detail with students of common areas such as lounge and hallway
Monitor students using the common area kitchen and lounge and encourage maintaining clean and orderly spaces.
Monitor and maintain inventory and ordering of cleaning/food/beverage supplies
Be present and engaged while working
Maintain and coordinate the Residence Team Monthly Schedule
Participate in staff meetings (live and via zoom)
Coordinate and lead student meetings (to be set in coordination with Operations and Director open hours)
Walk floor and apartments to ensure they are in safe, clean, and orderly condition
Conduct regular room inspection
Monitor Roommates activities and agreements
Lead the extended residence staff during the school year and summer
Work with Directors to review and strategically plan improvements and needed repairs and maintenance
Work with the School chef and coordinate weekend meals (dinners and brunch): check what is on the menu, finish food prep, warm food, set up food service in the common/lounge area, and follow proper sanitation/clean-up immediately after.
Distribute and maintain a stock of supplies including bowls, plates, utensils, napkins, etc.
Report by the end of the shift any circumstances that require leadership oversight or follow up
Other duties as assigned
Minimum age: 26 due to insurance requirements
Must be able to pass Federal background check, Fingerprinting, and Government Child Abuse Clearances
$500.00 - $700.00 per week with free housing, comprehensive medical/dental benefits package (negotiable parking)
