Watch the mystique unfold on stage at the Merriam Theatre as dancers transform themselves into the beautiful and magical creatures that inhabit the world all around us. Try to guess the type of bird each ballet personifies as the stage lights up with Carnival of Birds Showcase. A performance of heart, soul and passion, our students will amaze you with the way they take flight and dazzle you with jetes, pirouettes and battements that will make you feel like you’re flying, not to mention the heart warming smiles and exuberance brought to the stage by every single student. Time to Fly!

Our students will display all the beauty, wonder and elegance of birds in this staged ballet celebration: Carnival of Birds. Dynamic, fluid and virtuosic dancers will come to life for an unforgettable and captivating performance at the beautiful Merriam Theatre.

ANNUAL SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE REGISTRATION

 

1. COMPLETE PARTICIPATION FORM

The completed SHOWCASE PARTICIPATION CONTRACT must be turned in to The School office on or before Monday, March 13, 2017, along with the participation fee. A student will not be ordered a costume or allowed to rehearse without submitting the form and payment.

There will be a non-refundable late fee of $25 for all contracts/payments turned in after the due date. This fee will help cover the cost of expediting shipping for the student’s costume.

Participant must be in good standing with the school. All tuition and fees must be current.  Students who elect not to perform in the Showcase will be accommodated to the best of our abilities (i.e. will be included in the preparation for the dance as much as possible or have class during their scheduled class time) for all rehearsals that occur during a class period.

The 2017 SHOWCASE PARTICIPATION FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

$100 Creative Movement & Pre-Ballet

$160 Ballet Levels 1-3X

$185 Ballet Levels 4-6

$75 Hip Hop ONLY (for students not in ballet)

+$60 Hip Hop IN ADDITION to ballet (for students in both Showcase dances)

 

2. ATTEND SCHEDULED REHEARSALS

Please review and schedule accordingly the rehearsal schedules provided for your designated class.  The MASTER LIST will consist of the individual rehearsal schedules combined. 

 

3. FOLLOW UP ON ANY REHEARSAL CHANGES

Schedules are subject to change.  The school will post any schedule changes on the main bulletin board.  

 

4.  DANCER COSTUME FITTINGS

The School will bring all costumes to the theater for the dress rehearsal and performance. After the performance, students may bring their costumes home or donate it to the school.  

However, students that were issued accessories or hairpieces that belong to The School are required to return these items before the student will be allowed leave. Students will be billed for any missing or damaged School-owned items.

Should any student like to donate their costume to The Rock School after the Showcase, a tax-deductible contribution letter will be provided to the parent/guardian.

 

5. PRINT EXCUSED ABSENCE LETTER

Students will be required to miss school or leave early on performance day to attend rehearsals prior to the show at the theater.  Please make sure you print out and sign the EXCUSED ABSENCE LETTER.

 

 

6.  REVIEW HANDBOOK & DAY OF PERFORMANCE SCHEDULES
