Instructor, Eva Szabo 


Eva Szabo danced and toured extensively with the Gyori Ballet, a company which she co-founded in her native Hungary. She graduated from the Hungarian National Ballet Institute, receiving an international teaching certificate encompassing classical ballet, ballroom dance, folk dance, and pas de deux techniques. Ms. Szabo was formerly on faculty at the University of the Arts as Associate Adjunct Professor.

Absolute Beginner Ballet/Foundations

Instructor, Molly Hawkins

Molly Hawkins began her formal training under the instruction of Regina and Vadim Bogomolov of Classical Ballet of Fredericksburg in Fredericksburg, during which she had the opportunity to compete in the Junior Contemporary Division of Youth America Grand Prix in 2011. She moved on to train privately under the mentorship of Alice Bassler Sullivan, founding Artistic Director of Alaska Dance Theatre, and Heather C. McEwen, former Principal of Connecticut Ballet in Eagle River Ballet. The remainder of her training was completed as a Junior Company Dancer of the Island Moving Company in Newport, RI under the direction of Mikhi Olsen as well as a Junior Company Dancer of the Avery Ballet, under the mentorship of Lisa Snape Avery in Fredericksburg, VA. She is currently dancing as a company member of Long2Philly, the second company of Vanessa Long Dance Company based out of New York. 

Adult Beginner Pilates/Barre Fitness

Introducing Adult Beginner Pilates/Barre Fitness, where we mix the art of ballet with core Pilates principles to engage the body and mind. Instructor, Kalila is a dancer in the city and a Drexel Pilates certified Pilates Instructor with a passion for creating a warm environment and an amazing class experience.

Added bonus: Pre-K classes and Adult class run at the same time. June 30-August


Students attending Adult Pilates/Barre Fitness Classes at The Rock should dress comfortably. Dance attire should not restrict movement. Ballet slippers are not necessarily required. 



Pilates Instructor, Kalila Kingsford 

Kalila Kingsford Smith is a Pilates instructor, dance teacher, and independent choreographer based in Philadelphia. As an instructor, she works with students to access the support of the core in order to achieve maximum flexibility of the spine, while offering opportunities for deep engagement and creativity within the learning process. Kalila received her Pilates certification through Drexel Pilates, has an MA in Dance from Temple University, and a BFA in Dance and BA in Anthropology from the University of Michigan.

Stretch and Tone Ballet

Instructor, Chrissy Eltbedt

Christina Eltvedt, "Ms. Chrissy", recently graduated from Temple University with a master's in fine arts in dance. Prior to moving to Philadelphia to pursue her graduate degree, Christina lived and worked in Chicago as an artist, performer, choreographer, and dance teacher for many years. Within that time span, she performed nationally for the Joel Hall Dancers, Danszloop Chicago, and celebrated dance master Paul Sanasardo. As an independent artist, her choreography has been widely showcased on stages and site-specific locations nationally with a recent international debut in Gujarat, India.

These classes are open, and you may pay the day of your class or purchase multiple classes at once.

No registration required.  Class card can be used for 8 classes!  Once the card is purchased, the card will be made available to you in the front office at The Rock School.
