PREREQUISITES
Advancement to Level 4 is determined by the School Directors, only when a student has achieved the following:
• Commitment to his or her ballet training and consistently exemplary work habits
• Comprehensive grasp of the ballet vocabulary
• Satisfactory record of attendance
• Desire and potential for artistic growth and improvement
• Physical characteristics especially suitable for intensive, professional caliber ballet training and for performing (e.g., flexibility, straight back, legs turned out from hips, proper foot arch, slender trunk and limbs, presentable appearance) and considerable strength and stamina
• Musicality
• Discipline, focus, reliability and professional attitude
LEVEL 4*
• Curriculum content: accelerated ballet and pointe technique
• Open to continuing Rock School Level 3X students approved by the School Directors for advancement to level 4; additional openings for young women and men new to The School generally age 13 and older assigned to level 4 after an audition placement process
• 5 to 7 full years of previous classical ballet training required (pre-ballet instruction not included)
• Minimum 6 days per week, 13 class hours per week, recommended two classes a day.
• Enrollment is first-come, first-served with priority extended to re-enrolling Rock School pupils in good standing
• Consideration for RAPA and Conservatory preparation
LEVEL 5
• Curriculum content: strengthened ballet and pointe technique; may also include variations and partnering instruction, performance activities
• Open to continuing Rock School level 4 students approved by the School Directors for elevation to level 5; additional openings for young women and men new to The School generally age 15 and older assigned to level 5 after an audition placement process
• 6 to 8 full years of previous classical ballet training required (pre-ballet instruction not included)
• Minimum 6 days per week, 13 class hours per week
• 2-3 classes a day required
• Enrollment is first-come, first-served with priority extended to re-enrolling Rock School pupils in good standing
• Consideration for RAPA and Conservatory
