Residence

The Rock School is unique for many reasons. First, is its excellence in dance training and education. Equally important is the personal attention and care lovingly given to each child. The School directors and faculty guide and assist each student in reaching his or her goals. The Dean of RAPA helps to balance academics with busy dance schedules and activities and helps each student realize the importance and benefits of a superior academic education.

Location
The Rock School Residence is located in the Marine Club Apartment Building directly across the street from the Dance Center. The Rock School occupies one floor, which includes sixteen beautiful, large, loft-style apartments, a spacious student lounge with a large television, and a study room. Each apartment has a full kitchen, full bath, laundry room, and is air-conditioned. The School provides each RAPA student with a single bed, small dresser, standing lamp, desk, and chair.

Residence Life
The Residence Director and Assistants live on the floor with the students. There are security cameras in the hallway to monitor all activity on the floor, as well as 24-hour doormen/security to ensure residents safety and well-being. The Residence Director keeps the line of communication open between students, school directors, and parents. She helps provide a healthy, comfortable, and, above all, supportive living environment for all students living in the Residence. There is a comprehensive handbook that thoroughly explains the rules of residence life. All students must abide by these rules and curfews for their own safety and in order to remain in The Rock School.

Local Attractions
The Dance Center and Residence are only blocks away from several theaters, restaurants, parks, and shops. Students do have the freedom to explore the city, but within set boundaries. The Residence Director, Dean of RAPA, the Directors and Trustees work together to plan exciting, educational, and/or fun events and activities for the students. These activities can include trips to the museum, beach, zoo, mall, movies, dance performances, and theater as well as arts, crafts, and games centered around holidays and birthdays.

Meals and Dining
The School provides is comprehensive food program. Menus are geared towards the athlete/dancer. Students are free to make suggestions. A nutritionist visits the students to ensure healthy eating habits. The Residence Director and Assistants care for each student on an individual basis, providing the attention, care, and support that are needed while living away from home. These components combine to create a wonderful and caring environment.
