Rock School RAPA Admissions Process
1. Contact the Main Office (215) 551-7010 in order to speak with a School representative regarding the RAPA admissions process. The representative can answer general inquiries and will transfer you to the appropriate RAPA representative should you have more extensive inquiries. The RAPA admissions process occurs as follows:
2. Students/Parents inquiring about RAPA admissions must be aware that the first step of the process is to speak with RAPA's Dean of Admissions and Academics. The Dean of Admissions and Academics helps to answer general inquiries for the program. The students/parents are also required to speak with one of the Directors of the School in order to deem whether or not RAPA admissions is a possibility, to schedule an audition, and to help place the student in his or her audition class.
3. The students/parents interested in the RAPA program communicate with School Officials (Dean of Admissions and Academics, School Director, & Registrar) when they are coming to view the program and audition. At that time, the Dean of Admissions and Academics will release the RAPA Admissions Form. The RAPA Admissions Form must be completed and brought to the student's scheduled audition. Please note that there is an artistic and academic evaluation fee of $65.00 and individuals that are auditioning are
required to bring 2x2 picture of a head shot, and two 4x6 full front body shot in 2nd position with feet on floor in releve (on pointe for ladies with pointe training). Professional photos are not required.
4. The students/parents visit the School and audition for the program. After the audition, the students/parents are notified whether or not the individual has been accepted to the program based on artistic merit.
5. Should the individual be accepted to the RAPA program based on artistic merit, he or she then begins the second phase of the acceptance process. The Dean of Admissions and Academics reviews the individual's OFFICIAL transcripts from middle and high school through the current year of schooling and his or her standardized achievement test scores and PSAT/SAT scores, if available.
6. Should the individual's academic records be acceptable, he or she will then be notified whether or not they have been accepted based on academic merit. PLEASE NOTE THAT ADMISSION TO THE RAPA PROGRAM REQUIRES BOTH ACCEPTANCE BASED ON ARTISTIC MERIT ANDACADEMIC MERIT.
7. If the individual is accepted to the RAPA program based on BOTH artistic and academic merit, he or she will receive a letter of notification, as well as notification of whether or not he or she has received any scholarship for the program. Please note that scholarships for the RAPA program are based solely on artistic and academic merit.
